After struggling with his form for a long time, Kohli decided to take a break from cricket after the England tour. Be it his childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma or Indian cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar, everyone has offered to help Kohli.

“This academy is its own ground. He didn’t have time before but when he gets some time he can spend some time with himself here and practice. I would really like it if he comes here and he enjoys and feels comfortable in this place. Virat Kohli’s childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma told ANI.

Gavaskar told India Today: “If I had been with him for about 20 minutes, I could have told him he had to. It might help him. I’m not saying it will help him but it might. My advice can help especially with that off-stump line.”

Will Kohli shine in the Asia Cup? Kohli managed just 11 and 20 runs in the fifth and final Test against Edgbaston and continued his poor performance in T20Is, where he managed just 12 runs in two innings.

Then scored 17 and 16 runs in the three-match ODI series against England.

Also, Kohli had a sub-par IPL 2022. He managed to score only 341 runs in 16 matches at an average of 22.73. His strike rate is also decreasing day by day. In IPL 2022 he scored runs at a strike rate of just 115.98.

Now the question will be – will the break from cricket be of any benefit to him? Will he shine in the Asia Cup? The Asia Cup cricket tournament has always been a happy ground for Kohli. He is one of the scorers of the tournament.

Virat Kohli in Asia Cup cricket
