Who is Real Madrid’s all-time top scorer?

Karim Benzema became Real Madrid’s second highest goalscorer as he surpassed Raul to net in the Super Cup. Benzema tied for second on the club’s scorers list in May, when he equaled Los Blancos great Raul with 323 goals in a 6-0 header over Levante.

After netting Madrid’s second against Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday in Helsinki, he is now alone in second on 324.

David Alaba put Madrid ahead in the first half, with Benzema striking in a familiar combination with Vinicius Junior to make it 2-0 in the 65th minute.

Vinicius assisted Benzema 10 times last season and the Brazilian winger’s cross from the left side of the area gave Madrid’s new club captain a first-time finish which was headed in by Kevin Trapp.

Only Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored a remarkable 450 goals in his nine-year spell at the Santiago Bernabeu between 2009 and 2018, is ahead of Benzema, although the 34-year-old France striker looks unlikely to match that record.

Carlo Ancelotti is the first manager to win four European Cup/Champions League titles

Ancelotti became the first coach to win four European Cup/Champions League titles with May’s hard-fought final win over Liverpool, and his latest success makes him the most decorated boss in the Super Cup.

His fourth win in the competition (also won with Milan in 2003 and 2007 and with Madrid in 2014) saw him move one ahead of Pep Guardiola.
