Judoka Tulika Mann then lost her gold medal bout and settled for silver in the 78+ kg category in judo. Gurdeep Singh won bronze in the men’s 109+ kg category and the last medal of the day came in athletics as Tejswin Shankar won bronze in the high jump. The women’s lawn bowls team created history by winning the gold medal in the sport on Tuesday. They beat South Africa 17-10 to win India’s first medal in the sport at the Commonwealth Games. India won a table tennis gold in the men’s team event. India won 5 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze.

Indian judoka Sushila Devi Likmabam won the silver medal in the women’s 48 kg category on Monday. This is India’s first medal at CWG 2022 in a sport other than weightlifting. Another judoka Vijay Kumar Yadav followed this with a bronze medal in the men’s 60kg category. At the end of the day, Harjinder Kaur won bronze in the women’s 71kg weightlifting event. With these medals, India’s tally at the Commonwealth Games 2022 has increased to nine medals

Mirabai Chanu won India’s first gold medal on Saturday. Also, weightlifter Sanket Sargar won India’s first medal by winning silver in the men’s 55 kg category. Gururaja Pujari then won the bronze medal in the 61 kg category. Bindyarani Devi won the silver medal in the women’s 55 kg category

More than 5000 athletes from 72 countries are set to fight for medals in 20 different sports in the upcoming edition of the multinational event. This year’s edition will see 215 athletes representing the country and all of them will be playing in Birmingham with the sole aim of winning medals and making their country proud.
