CWG 2022– India at CWG 2022- Former India captain and current star Virat Kohli on Tuesday posted a tweet in which he was seen congratulating the successful Indian team at the Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2022. Kohli posted a collage of the Indian team that won 61 medals including 22 gold medals at the CWG. In Birmingham after its conclusion on Monday. Virat salutes the Indian team for CWG 2022

Virat posted a special collage of all the athletes who India won 61 medals in various events at CWG 2022. India was the fourth successful nation at the CWG in Birmingham behind Australia, hosts England and Canada.

Virat’s tweet read, “You have brought great fame to our country. Congratulations to all our winners and participants of CWG 2022. We are proud of you. Jai Hind.”

India’s tally of 22 gold medals is the fourth best finish for India at the CWG after exploits in 2010, 20002 and 2018. Shooting which was India’s strong point was not part of CWG 2022 while Neeraj Chopra was absent from the Indian team due to injury.

Virat had earlier praised Neeraj Chopra after he won a silver medal at the World Athletics Championships in Oregon.

Tokyo Olympics gold medalist Neeraj legendary long jumper Anju became the second Indian to win a medal at the world meet after Bobby George. George won bronze at the 2003 edition in Paris.

“Congratulations to @Neeraj_chopra1 for winning silver at the World Athletics Championships. We are proud of you.” Kohli tweeted.
