Deepak Chahar bowled seven overs on the trot in his comeback game and did not return to bowl after Wednesday’s game. Through injury hell, India are taking a cautious approach with the 30-year-old.

Chahar’s return was a welcome boost for Team India as Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel were injured. The CSK star was named as one of the reserves for the Asia Cup despite not having played any cricket since February at the time of the announcement.

Now rested in just his second game back in India suggests the medium pacer is still not 100% fit. But the Indian team management will be more cautious than careless and will try to keep Chahar in the best shape for the upcoming games.
