The 100th match is always a huge occasion. It is super-special for Indian batsmen as it is the mother of all cricket matches – India vs Pakistan. He will be eager to make that extra special with a good contribution and help India win.

Unfortunately, things haven’t been good for Kohli in the past few months. Runs have dried up from his bat. He did not score an international century in 1000 days. Such stat is amazing given that the player has delivered big time against all opponents and all types of surfaces.

The former India captain is expected to bat at number three in the upcoming Asia Cup match on August 28. He will hope the openers – KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma – take them to the top of the game. Doing so will reduce the pressure on Kohli.

Pakistan may be missing their number one bowler in the form of Shaheen Afridi, but that doesn’t mean Kohli will have an easy outing. Pakistan will be equally pumped and will end up on the winning side.

Kohli will take that kind of confidence into the Asia Cup as he has a good record against Pakistan in the shorter formats. If Kohli is dismissed, it will spell surprise for the Indian team as they are currently preparing for the T20 World Cup in Australia in October.
