Indian players have arrived in different batches for the Asia Cup. Most of the senior players flew in from NCA Bangalore after the training camp. KL Rahul and several others flew in from Zimbabwe after the ODI series in the African nation ended.

The practice session is important for all the Indian players to get used to the heat. The UAE, as a whole, is known to be tough on cricketers due to the heat. It is important to note that Rahul Dravid did not travel with the team with the head coach contracting Covid-19.

More importantly, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli will spend a long time in the nets. The former India captain has been struggling with runs in the middle so he could make good use of the net sessions in Dubai to get back into form.

Kohli actually started his training in Mumbai. As far as Rahul is concerned, the heat is going to test him with the player recently recovering from Covid-19. However, both players will be keen to get some good batting hours in the lead up to the Asia Cup.

Others including Rishabh Pant, Rohit Sharma, Arshdeep Singh and Bhuvneshwar Kumar will also take part in the first training session.
