All eyes on Shaheen Shah Afridi’s health: The 22-year-old pacer recently injured his knee during a tour of Sri Lanka. His fitness has worried Babar Azam and think tanks. On the one hand they will play the Netherlands from Tuesday but on the other hand the entire focus of the captain is on getting his main bowlers fully fit ahead of the Asia Cup.

Pakistan team bosses don’t want to overload a fast bowler. Afridi has already played 97 times across the three formats since making his international debut just four years ago.

“We are taking some doctors with us to take care of Shaheen and want him to play a match against Netherlands to see if he is fit and ready for the Asia Cup.” Pakistan captain Babar Azam said.

“But we have 11 trump cards. Each of them can be match winners on their day. I have faith in each and every one of them, whether it is a batsman or a bowler.
