“But in this case, I can definitely promise – we will not negotiate with them again.

“There will be no more racing in Russia.”

Alexey Titov, CEO of Russian GP promoter ANO Rosgonki, said he expects F1 to recoup the money made following the cancellation of this year’s race.

“This loan exists, it is guaranteed and our position on it remains unchanged.” Titov told the Russian news agency TASS. “Irrespective of the current position of Formula One management regarding the organization of races in the Russian Federation, we expect a refund.

“The current situation in world sports is highly political. Domenicali’s words need to be kept in mind here.

What he said has a pronounced political meaning that has nothing to do with the true spirit of the sport.

“Today the future of our relationship is really unclear. We will consider Domenicali’s position in our next work.”

This is the first year since 2014 that no races have been held at the Sochi Autodrome, with Mercedes winning every race so far.
