India faces dark times as world football’s governing body FIFA decided to ban the All India Football Association as early as August 16 for being influenced by third parties.

Former Indian international footballer, Eugenson Lyngdoh who is currently serving as Meghalaya MLA, submitted his nomination after getting the support of Meghalaya Football Association. However, the biggest news came on Friday when former India captain Vaichung Bhutia submitted his nomination for the post.

I have submitted nominations as representative of prominent players. In view of the SC decision to allow the players I hope the players will get a chance to serve Indian football. We want to show that we can be good not only as players but also as administrators. Bhutia told PTI.
