IND vs WI LIVE 1st T20 – Nicholas Pooran warns India: West Indies captain Nicholas Pooran has warned India ahead of the first T20I. The Caribbean captain addressed the media on Thursday evening and announced that his T20 team will play a completely different ball-game in the T20 format. Speaking to reporters ahead of the first T20, Pooran said, “West Indies will be a different unit in T20Is, we can beat India in the series.”

The West Indies captain looked equally amused as he stressed the need to have a concrete plan, “We need to build a partnership and it’s good to have Shimron Hetmyer back in the team. He has passed the fitness test and it’s always great to have a player of his quality back in the team.”

“The boys are ready for the challenge and ready to face India, and you are ready for it,” Puran added.

West Indies have announced their 16-man squad for the T20I series ahead of the tour of India and New Zealand. Shimron Hetmyer and Jason Holder return to the hosts’ team.

Cricket West Indies (CWI) announced the 16-member squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against India national cricket team and three-match T20I series against New Zealand national cricket team. Also eyeing the New Zealand series, West Indies have called up Shimron Hetmyer while Nicholas Puran leads the side.

Hetmyer recalls

Star left-handed batsman Shimron Hetmyer has been called up for the upcoming T20Is against India and New Zealand while pacer Sheldon Cottrell and all-rounder Fabian Allen are unavailable for selection. Sheldon is currently recovering from an injury and Allen is unavailable for personal reasons.

West Indies recently lost the ODI series against India. West Indies lost all three matches, 1st ODI by 3 runs, 2nd ODI by 2 wickets and 3rd ODI by 119 runs.
