“I need assignments, where I can work with young people. I know Mumbai have retained Amal Mujumder as their head coach, but if I am needed anywhere, I am there. We played together and we were a great team. What I want them to do. I was seeking help from MCA. I have come to CIC [Cricket Improvement Committee]But it was honorable work,” he said.

“I went to MCA for some help. I have a family to take care of. I have told MCA many times that if you need me, I am there, be it at Wankhede Stadium or BKC. Mumbai cricket has given me a lot. I owe my life to this sport.”

It must have been a tough time for Kambli, who was once known for living a glamorous life with a gold chain around his neck. It may still be with him, but the current situation may have lost that luster.

When it comes to cricket, Kambli scored 1084 runs in Test matches. He also scored 2477 runs in 104 ODIs.
